I am writing to express my deep gratitude for your tutelage from years 8 to 12 at Tye and English. I recently received a study score of 44 (raw) in English Language, and I believe that I owe it to your classes. Being a brilliant teacher seems to be an inherent quality in you. Especially this year as a Year 12 English Language student of your class, I have witnessed a strong passion for English that permeates your lessons, detailed and meticulous marking of work and an astute awareness of the individual strengths and weaknesses of students.
I cannot say that year 12 has been an easy ride, but I can say that coming to your classes has been extremely helpful. This year I struggled with confidence, and I remember telling you that I wasn’t sure if I could get over 40 for my study score. You told me that you knew I would get between 40 and 44. Having that support from you was incredibly encouraging and I worked hard after that, surprising myself when I got my results. Thank you for believing in me and supporting me through the years.
I am guessing that this letter will be read out in class or posted on a wall, so I direct this next piece of advice towards future and current students: Take every opportunity to extend yourself at Tye and English as these opportunities will be rich and plentiful. Ask many questions and in the words of Mr Tye: keep your eyes peeled.
Thank you again for your kindness and for being such an inspiring teacher.
