As ink flows freely across the page, I hark back to my first essay in Year 7. It was illegible and incoherent, marred by poor sentence construction. Six years later, I find myself astonished at the progress I have made. Without your assistance, a 45 in English and a near perfect score on the end of year written exam would have been a pipe dream.

Besides helping me achieve my true potential, you have also garnered in me an appreciation of the English Language. As a person geared towards Maths and Science, English seemed to be nothing more than another obstacle in achieving my dream VCE score. However, your courses were an eye-opener. Thank you for shedding new light on the way I read novels and analyse news articles.

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Tye & English for helping build my confidence in writing. Besides the comprehensive lessons and enthusiastic teaching, I benefited most greatly from your thorough corrections. It was disheartening to see my essays filled with red pen. Nevertheless, it provided an insight into my writing that I did not often see from my day school teachers. It was only through correcting my mistakes that I was able to learn, a springboard for helping me improve my writing.

In short, thanks for being such a dedicated teacher and opening my eyes to the complexities of the English Language.
